Every year International Women’s Day gives us cause to celebrate women’s achievements, from major milestones such as gaining the vote to recognising the incredible accomplishments of individual women.

Can you believe we are over halfway through the first Term of 2020. A jam-packed Term so far with many girls adjusting to new routines and habits. Many of our summer activities have been ticked off the list but as we head into Autumn, Summer Sport is still thriving. Interim reports for Years 7-13 will be published in the Kamar portal on Monday 16 March. They provide an overview of the first month of school.

We challenge you to run/walk in the 2020 Christchurch Marathon (half, 10/3/2/km) and help raise funds for youth mental health with Move for Māia.

Many thanks to those of you who donated baking to the Athletics Day this year. It’s a staple annual event for the PFA and it is very much appreciated by the Staff for their morning tea.

Leap Day 2020 turned out fine for the great Hirepool x Sustainable Coastlines Beach cleanup. SMC students from Year 12 and 13 spent the afternoon picking up rubbish to help clean up the coast.
