From the Head of Junior School

The learning does not stop just because we are not sitting in our classrooms! How adaptable have our tamariki become over the past few weeks! Today we held our Junior School Assembly to celebrate our Essential Workers, who we believe are our Super Heroes.

There was a common theme amongst the year groups, and that was YOU! As their parents and caregivers, you are appreciated and loved for all the support and care you are giving your children. Perhaps by being in “lockdown”, the silver lining is that your family notices the contributions you make to ensuring your children are well-loved and cared for. Whilst you ensure that your work continues to tick on, you make sure that teeth are cleaned, washing is done, dinner is served, and hugs are given. Our thanks go from us as teachers to you as parents for the support you have given us over this time.

Mrs Patchett spoke of the girls having to use their REDS at home in different ways. For example, through being responsible for ourselves or other family members, learning how to communicate through our devices effectively, showing dynamic thinking in our work (see the photos), and most of all being self-managers. Sometimes the hardest thing to do is be a self-manager when you are working or learning from home!
