Due to all of our fantastic efforts and results last week, we couldn’t wait until the next newsletter to let you know how proud we are of all of our SMC sportswomen. This has been a wonderful culmination to what has been a very exciting Term 1 for our summer sporting codes. Roll on Term 2 where we will be following our winter sports. In the meantime have a great break.

Rowing - Maadi

Our rowers had a fantastic week up at Lake Karapiro. Many of us watched the live stream with bated breath from afar and I am sure most of the supporters on the banks of the lake will have had very hoarse voices after each race.

A group of nine girls travelled up to Nelson last weekend to take part in the South Island Secondary Schools Athletics Champs.

Tennis

At the New Zealand Secondary Schools Tennis competition, held at Wilding Park - Abby Mason, Annie Coates, Sophie White, Ruby Young, and Emma Mason were placed 3rd overall, with a 6-0 win over Palmerston North Girls High. A great finale for our Year 13 players - Annabel Coates and Sophie White.
