"We should expect equality, not just hope for it". These were the words of our Prime Minister, the Right Honourable Jacinda Ardern, at last week’s 125th anniversary of the suffrage movement event at the Isaac Royal Theatre, attended by 20 students from St Margaret’s College. Without exception, our girls came away energised by the message and excited by the possibilities.

Our senior girls take out the Debating Championship for the second year in a row, we bask in the glory of recent performances, exhibitions, workshops and awards, and the Arts Council put the final touches to their spooky plan for Arts Soiree A Nightmare on Winchester Street.

17 girls from Years 8 - 13 represented SMC at the NIWA Science and Technology Fair. All girls represented the school well and seven were awarded a range of prizes including Adeline Chau taking out the top prize in the Fair. She has now been asked to submit her project for the Prime Minister's Future Scientist Award.
