Last Friday we recognised fifteen Year 13 students achieving one of the highest awards at St Margaret’s, Honours in Arts, Sport or Academic. This award requires a great deal of work, consistent effort, the highest achievement in their given area and service to the school community from Year 9 onwards.

Five of our Year 13 girls receive Honours in Arts, Senior Drama students enjoy a visiting show and workshop and Year 12 Drama and Music students present the powerful collaborative around identity, “I Am.”

We are well underway with our Term 2 winter sporting codes. The switch from summer sport to winter sport is always an interesting one, as girls decide which sports to play and how many they can juggle.

We had a really content packed meeting in April and it was great to see so many parents come along in person to interact with the Principal and the Board representatives to share their views on what is happening at SMC.

A team of 10 intrepid Year 10 girls accompanied by their courageous dean Sarena Harrison had the honour of joining three other school groups on The Spirit of Adventure yacht in a five-day voyage around Hauraki Gulf the first week of this term.

Homestay families are needed for the annual cultural visit by Japanese students from Kyoritsu Girls’ School. The students arrive on Sunday 28 July and stay until Sunday 11 August.
