House Day Thursday 10 June

House day is quickly approaching. We are very excited as this is a great St Margaret’s College tradition. Girls are to wear house coloured mufti to school for the day. The day takes a break from the normal school routine to come together by participating in a variety of activities to celebrate house spirit.

In the morning our Senior girls have organised games and activities for the houses. Following this, girls gather in their houses to eat lunch. They bring their own lunch for this (there is no shared lunch this year). After lunch, we have house plays that are written and directed by the students. All girls participate in this.

They will also need to bring to school the costume they need for their house play in the afternoon.

All girls will finish school at 3.30pm on this day due to the time that house plays finish.

Costume requirements as per House Prefects instructions are as follows:

RImu: Years 1, 2 & 3: These girls will be doing the charleston dance so if they have any black dresses or skirts that would be great. If not, just a full black outfit would work too. We will sort out headbands.

Years 4, 5 & 6: jeans/long pants and any colour shirt/blouse. Any type of casual shoes work.

Rata: The Junior School girls are in the movie ‘High School Musical’ and they are at a ‘school dance/disco.” They will need clothing that is red and white.

Matipo: The Junior School's part in the house play is to the song Honey, Honey - Mamma mia. They will need to wear anything yellow or relates to honey.

Manuka: White clothes which may include tutus or any accessories.

Kowahi: Green top (could be a t-shirt, long sleeve, hoodie any green on the top) and brown pants (long, shorts, skirt etc any sort of brown bottoms). If this is not possible, then dark top or leggings will be fine.

Konini: The colour theme for their scene is purple, so any purple clothing and accessories
