From the Head of Junior School

I have seen some very excited orphans running about this week! Of course, being able to perform whilst in a constantly changing environment is a challenge.

However, I admire the Performing Arts Department for their continued commitment, positivity and enthusiasm to ensure that the Junior School has a great experience being part of a big show regardless of what is happening in our country.

End of Year Reporting
Term 4 Reporting Information

Reporting on your daughter’s academic progress is an accumulation of different posts that showcase achievements, goals throughout the term, as well as academic levels twice a year.

In Term 4, all information regarding achievement levels in reading, writing, and mathematics (number focus) will be available to view on HERO from Thursday 2 December at 3.00 pm for students in Year 1 - 6.
You will find this information under the tab 2021 Report. In addition, this information will be displayed on a graph under each of the subject areas.

An example of the graph is below:

The colours on this graph are directly correlated to our Junior School Expected Levels of Progress - Benchmarks.

Currently, these graphs are not shown on your daughter’s HERO account as they have been “turned off” whilst teachers add new levels and data for their end of year results.

There will also be a comment from the classroom teacher giving a general overview of your daughter’s year. This will be found under the tab - ‘Tutor Comment’.

New Entrant students will receive a tutor comment only, as graphs are displayed from Year 1 onwards. In addition, you will be receiving an email next week with information on how to access your daughter’s HERO account.

Added to this will be a comment on progress and achievement in specialised subject areas, for example, PE and Performing Arts. These can be found under the ‘Learning Year’ tabs, and the most recent post is at the top of the page. These comments made by the specialisation teachers will be published no later than Thursday 2 December and you will get an email confirming when they have published a new post on your daughter’s account.

For those parents who want to have a printed copy of the report, this can be downloaded at home. The published report will contain the curriculum level achievements and current goals in reading, writing, and mathematics and the general comment from your daughter’s teacher.
