Homestay Families Needed

As part of the school community, we would like to reach out and offer you the opportunity to support one of these girls across the year in a variety of ways. School holidays are a time that you may like to be a Homestay Host for a student. As a family these young girls thoroughly enjoy being immersed in kiwi families lifestyles at home, be it on the farm, by the beach or in the city. Hosting girls for a period across our school holidays not only helps a student but often sees huge benefits to your own family learning about new cultures.

We know from past experience our SMC overseas students love every minute of being surrounded by family and friends. We are also seeking interest from SMC families who would be interested in becoming a Local Guardian, where you would be her regular and ongoing support person who is willing to offer occasional weekends at your home, regular support for the girl’s needs such as transport to a haircut, shopping for necessities, a visit to the dentist and be willing to take her should there be a reason for a boarding house closure.
