A big thank you to Katie at Waimate Berries for providing such a fun experience for our kids.

What an amazing time we had this morning at Waimate Berries. We learned about how strawberries grow, the different types of strawberries, pests, how the petals on the strawberry flowers can indicate a deformed strawberry and how to pick a strawberry properly.

The children were able to pick and eat as many strawberries as they could manage and we finished the outing off with a delicious real fruit ice cream. We also were given some strawberry plants, which we planted when we got back to school.
