The children have spent some time with the Educators from the South Canterbury Museum.

The Junior and Senior children visited the Waimate Museum in two separate groups.  The Educators from the South Canterbury Museum helped us to understand the timeline of World War 1 as well as aspects of the war through a local lens.  We read and talked about stories from local war veterans, saw and discussed real artifacts from World War 1, and some children even thought they may have found some of their family members in photos of some of the Waimate Soldiers who were heading off to War.
