On Friday the 24th of July the annual announcement was made of the nominations for the Musical Theatre New Zealand Zone 2 theatre awards (the Zonys). The year for nominations runs from mid 2019 to mid 2020. Zone 2 runs from approximately the Bombay Hills down to the Manawatu and covers the entire width of the country.

This year, our production of Grease (June 2019) has received 6 nominations. They are:

Best supporting female in a youth production: Kaylee Morrison

Best supporting male in a youth production: Havila Molia

Best supporting male in a youth production: Seth Peake

Best leading female in a youth production: Neisha Cooper

Best supporting ensemble in a youth production

Best youth production

Now we wait until November to see if we have won any of these.
