Introducing our Sports Chaplain

St Paul's Collegiate School —

Wayne Douglas joins St Paul's as the school's Sports Chaplain, a new role which sees him involved in supporting our athletes, players and coaches through pastoral care and mentoring.

Mr Douglas has plenty of sports knowledge and a keen interest in most sporting codes with more than a decade of refereeing secondary schools rugby. He began his tenure with St Paul's as support for the first XV rugby and first XI cricket teams. With more than 40 years in the media (radio and TV) has given him vast experience in the area of people skills.

Mr Douglas' commitment to Sports Chaplaincy and pastoral care in general is simple – he is always available to discuss anything. He attends practices and games whenever possible and has become affectionately known as “Chappie” amongst our athletes.
