Esports sweeps St Paul's

St Paul's Collegiate School —

Esports has found its way to St Paul's, where a recreational team has been formed to play other high schools across New Zealand in St Paul's newest sport option.

The team of captain Dominic Dumble, Andrew Yip, Jeff Lester, Mark McCluskey, Curtis Sheeran, Ben Littlejohn, Lachlan Lamont and John Zhou have completed two games, against Lincoln High School from Christchurch and Te Aroha College.

The team is recreational as the players are new to the game played, League of Legends (LOL), but teacher-in-charge Helen Chileshe is aware of ranked players within the St Paul's student body and calls for anyone interested to play competitively to come to her.

A competitive league will be hosted by the University of Waikato and will be the first tournament of its kind to be hosted by a university. It is an exciting opportunity for young gamers to test their skills against the best in the country.
