Sarah Wikaira and Gretel Muir represented Waikato by taking part in the National Semi-Final of the Race Relations Speech Competition this week, Monday and Tuesday nights respectively.
Neither of them placed, unfortunately, but they delivered outstanding performances. The judges comments revealed they were perfect in their delivery and offered powerful messages about race unity in Aotearoa. Of the 14 candidates representing different regions around the country, four went through to the national final.
St Paul's retains the Waikato trophy for the third time in four years!
