Carter Millward (Year 9) represented New Zealand at the annual Australia/New Zealand Waterski Challenge held in Whanganui from 12-18 February 2024. As the youngest athlete in the New Zealand team and his division, Carter had a fantastic first round jumping a personal best, had a strong slalom score and was leading tricks. 

This put him in a potential first place position but unfortunately had his rope clipped his ski binding in the second round. This caused his ski to release and Carter to go in one direction and his ski in another. A freak event but a cruel one meaning Carter scored 0 for that pass versus 2,200 in his first round. As the competition is based on both scores added together he went from first position to fourth. Amazing effort, Carter!
