Historic win for senior girls’ water polo team
The St Paul’s senior girls’ water polo team made history by claiming the top spot in the Waikato female division – their first division win ever – after a thrilling final against Waikato Diocesan.
Dio opened the scoring early, but team captain Caitlin Foote quickly rallied her side, helping level the match at 3–3 heading into the final quarter. With five minutes remaining, Emma Fletcher delivered a spectacular goal to put St Paul’s in the lead. Strategic timeouts were then called by both teams, and in the tense final minutes, goalkeeper Brooke McAlley made several crucial saves to secure the victory.
The final score: 4–3 to St Paul’s.

St Paul’s boys take third in tight finish
The St Paul’s Boys’ Black water polo team faced Hamilton Boys’ HBHS Gold in the 3rd and 4th place playoff of the Waikato Secondary Schools competition.
In a close-fought match, St Paul’s edged ahead with a final score of 7–6, securing a strong third-place finish.
