Good Vibrations Concert: A Symphony of Musical Excellence
Our annual Good Vibrations concert was a highlight of our year. The first half of the concert was a celebration of music by our musicians at St Paul’s Collegiate School. This portion included being entertained by our brass groups as guests arrived and hearing our string group and piano soloists as guests entered the chapel.
The concert then started with a rousing rendition of Fight Song by pianist Peter Huang and cellist Ryan Koo, piper Seumas Eade with Jackson Mackwood and Nic Jones on the drums. All of our large ensembles also performed alongside the eight-hands piano group, rock bands and other soloists.
During intermission, the guests were entertained by the Bagels, while the stage was reset for the second half of the programme. We were delighted to have three groups join us from Hukanui Primary School, Waikato Schools Symphonic Band and the Waikato Symphonic Band. They joined with the St Paul’s Collegiate School Concert Band, and after each group performed on their own, the grand finale was a group performance with 120 musicians all performing together to finish off what was a wonderful evening of music in the Chapel of Christ the King.
