Five Medals at NZSS Swimming Championships
The end of July saw more than 600 swimmers from across the country converge in Auckland for the annual competition, which ran over six sessions and four days. The atmosphere was electric, and the anticipation of the Paris Olympics added more energy to the meet. Competition was fierce, as a number of New Zealand records were broken during the event. The St Paul's swim team represented the school exceptionally well, making valiant efforts in the water and garnering medals in almost every session. Our top placers were as follows:
🥈 Silver in 4x50m Freestyle: Neo Urlich, Stephen Miller, Amelie Austin and Lani Jarrett
🥈 Silver in 8x50m Freestyle: Neo Urlich, Stephen Miller, Amelie Austin, Lani Jarrett, Addison Welch, Finn Freemantle, John Park and Ashley Lander
🥉 Bronze in the 200m Breaststroke: John Park
🥉 Bronze in the 200m Backstroke: Ashley Lander
🥉 Bronze in the 4x50m Mixed Medley: Neo Urlich, John Park, Emma Fletcher, Amelie Austin
