Historical football win against HBHS

On Saturday, 27 June, the boys’ 1st XI Football team, in the opening game of the season, had the daunting task of taking on the juggernaut of Hamilton Boys’ High School 1st XI. Confidence was low after a disappointing preseason.

However, right from the kickoff, in a fast-paced game, St Paul’s gained the upper hand, winning the physical battle. Everyone chased hard and wore the opposition down. Fergus Williams scored twice in the first half to give St Paul’s a 2-1 lead. The second half followed the same pattern. Aarun Lim scored with a long shot and then with five minutes to go, Fergus scored for a third time to give St Paul’s a 4-1 win.

Fergus Williams was the player of the day following his outstanding performance on the field.
