Girls Lacrosse team selected for premier division
On Saturday 27 June, St Paul’s Girls’ Lacrosse team played in a lacrosse grading tournament held at Matamata Intermediate
This was their first game of the season, coming together as a “new” team
for the season after losing 60% of their players. The key game against Morrinsville saw the St
Paul’s girls come back in the second half, fighting hard for the win, and
ending with a fulltime score of 7-4 to St Paul’s. The St Paul’s girls went on to play shortened
games against Te Awamutu, Matamata, and Cambridge High Schools. The day ended with the amazing news that our
girls’ Lacrosse team will play in the Premier grade for the 2020 season. For their grit and determination on the field
of play, the entire team was, in the eyes of their manager, Mrs Bromwich, players
of the day.
