Year 10s trial NZQA Digital Literacy and Numeracy Standards

Before Intake 2023/2 left to Tihoi, the students trialled an NZQA Pilot Digital Literacy and Numeracy Standards programme. The purpose of the pilot was to:

• refine and improve the standards so they are clear and at the right level 
• refine the assessments so they are equitable, valid, and robust 
• understand how the Ministry of Education can support the teaching and learning of literacy and numeracy - Te reo matatini me te pāngarau
• understand how NZQA can support schools, kura, and tertiary providers with the move to digital assessment
• allow schools and kura to determine what support or interventions their students need to ready them for the assessments
• allow schools and kura to evaluate their own systems and processes for delivering the assessments.
