Swimming sport finals

Staff and students got the chance to share house spirit at the Swimming Sports Finals on Wednesday 6 March. After six swim records were broken in the heat rounds, a further five records were achieved by four different swimmers. Congratulations to the following students for their outstanding swims:

• Ollie Mouat (Year 11) took a half-second off the intermediate boys' 50m butterfly record with a time of 26.5 seconds.
• Alina Zabel (Year 12) took over four seconds off the senior girls' 100m breaststroke record finishing in 1.19.53 minutes. 
• Lily Jarrett (Year 11) set the senior girls' 50m backstroke record to 33.78 seconds. 
• John Park (Year 9) re-broke his heat records in both the junior boys' 50m breaststroke in 33.18 seconds and 100m breaststroke in 1.13.06.
  

Individual Championships:

• In the senior boys' individual championships, there was a three-way tie for first between Ben Haskell (Year 13), Samuel Peoples (Year 13) and Boston Tordoff (Year 12) as they each scored 30 points. 
• In the senior girls' individual championships, Sophie Perry (Year 12) won 32 points in a thrilling race with Amelie Austin (Year 11) in the 100m medley. Amelie finished in second place with 30 points, while Alina Zabel finished third with 24 points. 
• Ollie Mouat won all his races taking the top intermediate boys' individual championships spot with 32 points, Sam Schulze (Year 10) finished second on 27 points, and Jim Lin (Year 11) placed third on 26 points. 
• In the junior boys' individual championships, both Neo Urlich (Year 10) and John Park were unbeaten to share the title with 32 points, while Stephen Miller (Year 9) placed third with 25 points.

While Sophie Perry, Ollie Mouat, Neo Urlich and John Park all scored the maximum 32 points during the finals, the Kirby Sandford Cup (Champion of Champions) goes to John for breaking two school records in the heats and finals.
