Waikato/Bay of Plenty Junior Farmer of the Year by St Paul's Collegiate School

Waikato/Bay of Plenty Junior Farmer of the Year Competition

Over 5-6 March, four St Paul's Collegiate School teams entered in the Waikato/Bay of Plenty Junior Farmer of the Year Competition. Up against 17 other teams, the groups competed in teams of two and were challenged to a series of modules based on the food and fibre sector. Congratulations to Benjamin Allen (Year 13) and Alex Purdie (Year 13), who came first in the region, and to Kate Morton (Year 13) and Finn Morton (Year 9), who placed second!

Both these teams move through to the grand final to battle it out for the title of FMG Junior Young Farmer of the Year in July.

Special mention to Hannah Boswell (Year 12) who competed individually and won the 'Competitor of the Competition' award, scoring herself a $50 prize pack.

Well done to Heera Singh-Sandu (Year 11) and Simer Singh Ark (Year 11) who also competed, but unfortunately did not place.
