Record-breaking School Swimming Sport heats
On Tuesday 8 March, students participated in a day of swimming sport heats where significant records were broken along the way. Congratulations to the following students who broke swimming records:
- Alina Zabel (Year 12) impressively broke a 16-year-standing-record in the girls' 100m breaststroke in a time of 1:23:65 minutes. This record was previously broken in 2006 with a time of 1:24:00 minutes.
- John Park (Year 9) stunned in the water, gaining the junior boys' 100m breaststroke record in 1:15:00 minutes, superseding the previous 1:18:10 record from 2019. John also broke the junior boys' 50m breaststroke record in a time of 34:57 seconds. The previous record was broken in 2020 with a time of 35:56 seconds.
- Boston Tordoff (Year 12), broke the senior boys' 100m breaststroke record in a time of 1:08:59 minutes. The previous record time was 1:13:30 minutes in 2019.
- Ollie Mouat (Year 11) broke the intermediate boys' 50m butterfly record in a time of 27:03 seconds. The previous record time was broken in 2017 with a time of 27:29 seconds.
- Laura Littlejohn (Year 13) broke the girls' 100m backstroke record in a time of 1:07:87 minutes. The previous record time was 1:08:69 minutes in 2020.
