Gold at New Zealand Secondary Schools Open Water Swimming Championships

On Saturday 2 April, five St Paul's swimmers competed at the New Zealand Secondary Schools Open Water Swimming Championships at Mount Maunganui. 

Finn Freemantle (Year 9) won the 500m swim in the 12 to 13 year old category, taking home the champion title and a gold medal. In addition to his win, Finn also finished with a bronze medal in his 2.8km swim.

Matthew Chanwai (Year 12) finished eighth in the boys' 1.25km event in the 16 to 19 year old category. 

Nikita Coleman (Year 13) finished seventh in the girls' 16 to 19 year old category in the 1.25km event. 

Charlie Etherington (Year 10) finished eighth in the 14 and 15 year old boys' event for the 1.25km swim.

Lily Jarrett (Year 11) finished ninth in the girls' 14 to 15 year old 1.25km swim.
