Mufti day fundraiser for World Vision

As part of our ongoing support for World Vision’s 40 hour Famine, now in its 42nd year in New Zealand, our Mission, Outreach and Service Prefects have organised a mufti day for ALL St Paul’s students.

The focus of World Vision‘s work this year is in Malawi Africa, a nation who contributes the least to global warming and yet suffers the most as a result of its impact through climate change, cyclones, flooding and the repetitive failure of many of its harvests. Monies raised this year will go to agricultural schemes involving crops and livestock to provide a more sustainable and productive food supply for many regions in that nation. World Vision are also at work there supporting many educational and healthcare projects.

To raise funds towards World Vision's 40 hour Famine event, we are holding a mufti day next Wednesday 10 June and ask those students who are participating to bring a minimum of $5, as previous mufti days. These will be collected by house staff and prefects during that morning’s roll call. The theme is orange and all students are encouraged to wear items of clothing that colour.

There have been a number of sign-ups of students participating in the famine, which begins in the evening of Friday June 5. A special mention to all of those prefects and students who have volunteered their time to ensure a smooth event.

You can follow the outcome of the event on the Our Chapel at St Paul's page on Facebook here.

With my thanks for your ongoing and continued support for many of our service and fundraising programs. The generosity and compassion of the St Paul's community is a remarkable and celebrated component of who we are as a school.
