Intercity tournament underway for Girls' Hockey

The St Paul's Girls' Hockey team had their first game of the intercity tournament against Western Heights.

The game was played as four quarters and while St Paul's dominated most of the possession in the first quarter, it was Western Heights who scored to take a 1-0 lead into quarter time.

The game evened up in the second and third quarters with neither side able to score. St Paul's missed a number of opportunities but were strong on defence to keep Western Heights scoreless.

The last quarter saw St Paul's strong on the attack with plenty of advantage. A strategic call to take off the St Paul's goalie with three minutes left, saw St Paul's finally find the back of the net through a brilliant goal to player of the day Darcy Hunter (Year 13).

On the final whistle, St Paul's managed to defend a Western Heights penalty corner. Final score 1-1 draw.
