St Paul's First XI Football win WSSFA College Day Tournament

Congratulations to the St Paul's First XI Football boys, who won the pre-season College Day Tournament at St Peter's School from 7-8 May. After drawing one game and winning two on the first day of the competition, St Paul's qualified for the final.

On finals day, our boys were up against Hamilton Boys' Second XI. With 30 seconds until full-time, the boys were down 1-0 until Dylan Gardiner (Year 11) got his head to a free-kick, levelling the score 1-1. This crucial goal took the team to a penalty shootout where our boys calmly slotted all five penalties. The team goalie, Tom Yetsenga (Year 11), saved the opposition's final attempt, allowing our boys the College Day Champions title for 2022. The last time the school won this tournament was in 1999. Well done, lads!
