The shooting team travelled to Matamata to compete in the fourth interschool shoot of the 2022 season. With the North Island Secondary Schools tournament only four weeks away, this was an integral training competition.

The best performances of the day went as follows:

In the single rise shoot, Alex Purdie (Year 13) and Tom Storey (Year 11) both shot the possible 20/20.
Individual points: Alex Purdie scored 60/60, Jack Ward (Year 12) scored 54 and Tom Storey scored 53.
As a team, the boys shot 268/300 placing them in the third position, one point behind Hamilton Boys' High School and Tauranga Boys' College.
In the Single Barrel event, Alex Purdie, Tom Storey and Ben Spring (Year 12) all shot 9/10
With a combined score of 89/90 over the three events, Alex Purdie won the individual high gun and High Over All (HOA) gold medals and Tom Storey placed a respectable seventh.
