Crunch time at Maadi Cup

St Paul's win one gold, one silver and four bronze medals at the New Zealand Secondary Schools Rowing Regatta

After a long competitive week at Karapiro as part of the New Zealand Secondary Schools Rowing Regatta, our rowers should be incredibly proud of their hard work and dedication. They competed in 11 A Finals and 7 B Finals. Medal recipients were:

Riley Wills won the U17 single scull A Final. In addition to winning his gold medal, Riley has won a new single scull boat donated by Laszlo Boats NZ, valued at $10,000. This boat will be used for Riley to train and compete in next year as a single sculler.

Riley Wills and Logan Spencer came second in the U17 double sculls A Final

Guy Charteris and Levi Davidson placed third in the U18 novice double sculls A Final

Leah Weck, Olivia Dunn, Awatea Gudgeon, Charlotte Boyd and Tanika Naidoo placed third in the U17 coxed quad sculls A Final

Brea McDonald, Leah Weck, Jessica Scatchard, Belinda Wright and Fred Phillips placed third in the U18 coxed quad sculls A Final

Guy Charteris, Blake Finlayson, Levi Davidson, Ashton Coombes and George Adamson placed third in the U18 novice coxed quad sculls A Final

Several students have been chosen by New Zealand Rowing to further their sporting career. Matthew Waddell has been selected to trial for the New Zealand Junior squad as well as Leah Weck, Logan Spencer, Riley Wills and Fred Phillips who have all been offered to trial for the North vs South U18 squad.
