NZU18 Future Blackstick Hockey

Year 13 students Richard Ruetsch and Deputy Head Girl Gracie Potter returned early from the St Paul's Hockey Tour in Europe to attend the NZ U18 Future Blacksticks Training Camp from 7-11 October.

At the camp, they trained in a high-performance environment with top coaches, gaining exposure to the skills and play styles needed for the world stage. We can't wait to see where your hockey careers take you, Richard and Gracie!


NZSS Shooting Competition

During the term break, a small St Paul's team competed in the South Island Secondary Schools and New Zealand Clay Target Shooting in Christchurch.

In the medal shoot off, Dean Stirling won silver in the single rise and had an opportunity to win a bronze medal in the single barrel however he gained a respectable fourth place.

Troy competed in the medal rounds of the single barrel and gained a bronze medel. Amazing results for what has been another very successful season. The best results were as follows:

SISS:

  • Single rise: Troy Stirling and Dean Stirling with 17/20

  • Points: Alex Quested 57 and Dean Stirling 51/60

  • Single barrel: Alex Quested with 9/10

NZ Nationals:

  • Single rise: Dean Stirling 25/25, Troy Stirling 24/25 and Alex Quested 23/25

  • Points: Alex Quested 71, Troy Stirling 69 and Dean 67/75

  • Single barrel: Troy Stirling 15, Dean Stirling 14 and Alex Quested 13/15.
