On day two, St Peter’s showed more intent, with Xavier Bell (87) and Cameron O’Leary (62) leading their innings.
Despite their efforts, we maintained our fielding standards, taking crucial wickets. St Peter’s scored 210 runs. Will Hadley shone with figures of 5/38 from 18 overs. With a day one lead, the team needed 90 runs to win outright. St Peter’s made us work for it, taking five wickets, but Max Makeham's aggressive 38 off 23 balls and Kalen Lake's steady 20* not out secured the win.
A satisfying result as we look ahead to challenging games against Morrinsville and Cambridge Premier Men’s.
