Climate Ambassador Hub Day
The University of Waikato had some incredible secondary school students participating in the Climate Ambassador Hub Day held at the University of Waikato's Hamilton campus. These students from around the Waikato participated in a multidisciplinary case study competition on sea level rise in Aotearoa New Zealand. They worked in groups of 5-6, with each group being allocated a coastal New Zealand location to research and present on (looking at Science, Economics, Policy, and Environmental Planning).
To help them with this, students spent the morning hearing from our in house experts talk about sea level rise within their respective disciplines. The students then had time to research and put together their presentations - each group had a current University of Waikato Bachelor of Climate Change student as a mentor.
The energy, enthusiasm, and effort these students put into their research and presentations blew us away. From cool raps to hilarious skits and even a game show-style presentation, they captivated us with their creativity and commitment to addressing the challenges of sea level rise. Keep being amazing, and thanks for being part of this epic journey.
Let's continue to inspire change and make a positive impact together.
