Police share insights with Year 12 students
During the month of April, our students gained valuable experiences and insights during interactive sessions aimed at promoting healthy relationships and overall wellbeing.
One highlight was the visit from the Police, who engaged Year 12 students alongside housemasters in the 'Loves Me Not' programme. This programme, initiated by the Sophie Elliott Foundation in collaboration with the Police, provided an avenue for students to explore the dynamics of healthy relationships. Through student-led inquiry, they identified unhealthy behaviors and discussed strategies for fostering positive connections. Moreover, our students had the opportunity to interact with local law enforcement, addressing any queries or concerns they had. With the presence of eight dedicated Police Officers, the day was impactful and insightful.
In addition, all students benefited from an engaging presentation by 'Attitude'. The session encapsulated essential messages, including reminding students that the quality of their thoughts shapes the quality of their lives. Students learned to embrace personal growth, understanding that self-improvement is an ongoing journey. The importance of self-approval resonated strongly, emphasising the significance of prioritising one's own values and well-being. Additionally, students were encouraged to assess risks against rewards, fostering a mindful approach to decision-making.
Overall, it was a day dedicated to nurturing student wellbeing, and the response from both students and staff was overwhelmingly positive.
