Polo success for Zachary Keyte

Zachary Keyte (Year 11) recently competed in the NZ Open (15-16 February) and the Saville Cup (3-7 March) Tournaments.

At the Saville Cup (top division in New Zealand polo currently) Tournament held in Christchurch, Zachary was representing the Mystery Creek Polo Club. Not only did his team win this tournament, but Zachary made history by being the youngest rider ever to win the tournament since it was first played for in 1891. Zachary was named as the best young up-and-coming player of the tournament.

Oliver Larcombe wins gold at NZSS Triathlon Championships

Our athletes competed in the New Zealand Secondary Schools Triathlon Championships in New Plymouth from 27-28 March.

Conditions were overcast and the sea was choppy making the swim a real challenge. Our students competed in the U19 age group which consisted of a 750m swim, 18.5km bike and finishing with a 5km run

Well done to Oliver Larcombe who won the U19 individual triathlon, completely dominating his opposition throughout most of the race

Oliver Larcombe, Toby Finlayson, Nikita Coleman and Monique Speeding (from HGHS) also won their race in the team U19 mixed relay event. Each student had to complete a mini-triathlon for this race and our team held the lead throughout their race to comfortably secure the win.
