Top grade for St Paul's by Andrew Constable

St Paul's Premier team resume Premiere status

On the evening of Thursday, 29 April our Premier Netball team played against Morrinsville, beating them soundly by 30 goals with a final scoreline of 51-21 to St Paul’s.

This puts them into the Thursday night league which reflects that they are one of the top 12 teams in the Hamilton City Netball Competition (there are only four secondary school teams in this particular competition.)

Pre-season Netball tournament at St Paul's

Head Coach Lynaire Williams organises competitive tournament for several schools nationwide

St Paul’s Premier, Hamilton Girls High School One and Two, Whangarei Girls’ St Hilda (Dunedin), Samuel Marsden (Wellington), Tauranga Girls’ and Trident High School (Whakatane) all attended a pre-season netball tournament hosted by St Paul’s.

Teams could bring 14 players each and it was a great opportunity to trial combinations before the season proper gets underway. St Paul’s had three wins and three losses but more importantly, gained some valuable experience. There was also a wellness seminar for the girls attending and a festival dinner held onsite.

Thank you to the Director of Netball, Ms Lynaire Williams for her organisation of this event and the SPC team manager, Mrs Helen Bradford for giving up their time to make this a special occasion for all in attendance.
