As a high school student Harriet Norman (Harington 2010-12) had extra lessons at lunchtime to perfect her dancing. Now, some years later, the primary teacher is returning to St Paul’s – this time as the Head Teacher at the school’s new dance school.

On Tuesday 26 January, our first day back at school, we held a poowhiri to welcome new staff and students to St Paul's.

Joanna Li has been ranked top student in the world by achieving a mark of 99% in her International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) Chemistry examination. This incredible achievement is a first for a student at St Paul’s Collegiate School.

After the refurbishment of Williams House in 2015, there was a desire to create an outdoor communal space for the men of Williams House - a place big enough to hold house meetings in the summer and be able to share a weekend meal together.

All transitions are important, but the transition into high school is unique. Successful transitions rely on a number of social, emotion and practical factors. Being well prepared is key to an easier transition that should be viewed as a process over time, rather than a one-off event.

Emily Jin has received a scholarship through Immerse Education, a provider that offers educational experiences at the University of Oxford and the University of Cambridge.

As Sam White recounts her experience on Outward Bound, she admits she completely underestimated what the 21-day voyage had in store for her.

It was with a heavy heart we farewelled former staff member, Ian Parsons at a funeral held in Cambridge on 18 January 2021.

We are now operating a new daily bus route for our families living in the Whatawhata/Te Kowhai area.

Well done to Anaru Paenga-Morgan who competed in the 2021 Te Wānanga o Aotearoa National Sprint Championships at Lake Karapiro last week.

There was no summer holiday rest for St Paul’s Swim Club as they competed in the National Open Water Championships finishing second place overall.

Ben Littlejohn has gained admission into Harvard University based in Boston, Massachusetts, USA.
