Congratulations to the following students who received their Sporting Caps

Logan Casey made his debut against Gisborne Boys' High School during the 2023 pre-season games. Over the season, he played nearly every minute as the starting fullback, showcasing his growing confidence in his running game and improved kicking skills. Logan's hard work and astute rugby brain have made him a key member of the squad. His positive mindset and decisive decision-making continue to develop, making him a real weapon within the group.

Pera Nelson made his debut for the First XI Hockey team in 2022 as a Year 11. Since then, he has become a mainstay in the defensive line. His formidable stature is an asset in shutting down opposition attacks, and his long-range passing creates numerous chances for the team's attacking players. Pera is a workhorse, often playing significant minutes in crucial games. He will play a pivotal role in any success the team experiences this year.

Quinn Harris made his debut for the First XI as a Year 10 in 2022. He is a skillful player who regularly entertains the crowd with his flair and X-factor. An attacking threat, Quinn often finds himself on the scoresheet with multiple goals. He has played representative hockey at the U18 level for Thames Valley and Waikato. With a season and a half left of school hockey, we eagerly anticipate what Quinn can achieve.

Hannah Syme’s unwavering commitment and hard work have made her a valuable member of the St Paul’s First XI Hockey team. She always puts the team’s needs ahead of her own – demonstrating exceptional selflessness.

Hannah is a very brave and determined player who consistently shows courage on the field. She never hesitates to put her body on the line. Her gutsy performances and selflessness have been a crucial part of shaping the culture of the team. Her dedication, bravery, and team spirit are appreciated.
