St Peter's Successes
As always, we are immensely proud of the extraordinary achievements of all our students at St Peter’s. A big well done, and congratulations to everyone who pushes themselves to succeed.
Dance NZ Made: Year 9 student Sammy Morris and the Expressions Dance Troupe, which included senior dance students Ruby Goodchap (Year 12), Miah Hill (Year 12), Amy McFarlane (Year 13), Amy Sciascia (Year 13), Maggie Denize (Year 12), Sophiya Andrews (Year 11), Sasha Khatkar (Year 13), Laura Mann (Year 13) and Cindy Liu (Year 11), travelled to Palmerston North to the Dance NZ Made Nationals Competition over the weekend. Both Sammy and the troupe qualified for Nationals at the Waikato Regional Competition back in July, a huge achievement. All of the dancers worked extremely hard to prepare for Nationals and competed against other schools from all over New Zealand. They represented St Peter's proudly and should be commended for the effort they brought to the stage!
Badminton: A fantastic result recently for St Peter's Badminton at the Term 3 Secondary Schools Badminton competition. The Senior Boys' team won their division, winning 35 out of 36 games, whilst the Girls' Red team won bronze in the girls' division.
Cycling: An excellent result at the New Zealand Secondary School Northern Tour cycling event recently; congratulations to Kane Foster (Year 12), Carter Paine (Year 9) and Jamie Henderson (Year 10).
Carter was the overall winner in U13 boys, finishing first in both the Hill Climb and Criterium; Jamiewon overall in U15 boys with first place in the Criterium and 3rd in the Hill Climb; and Kane finished 2nd in the U20 boys criterium.
Girls Football: A proud moment for our school – the Girls 1st XI football team at their premier tournament in Taupo were awarded a fair play perfect score of 35 out of 35. This score represents a high standard on the field, positivity on the sideline, no player cautions, and acceptance of all referee calls. This is an outstanding achievement reflecting the culture of our school and an excellent example set by our premier team.
Hockey: The 1st XI Hockey Girls are celebrating a fantastic 2023 season. The team has grown in ability and strength throughout the season, bringing their final national placing to 8th in the country. This outstanding achievement creates a phenomenal launchpad for the 2024 season. To read more about their 2023 journey, click here.

Boys’ Lacrosse: Well done to the Boys’ Premier Lacrosse Team for winning their bronze final during Tournament Week.
Also, congratulations to players Iestyn Foster (Year 11) and Murdoch Bech (Year 13) on being two of the top performers during Tournament Week and being named as part of the Tournament Team.

Also, welcome back to Louise Dijkstra (Year 9), who proudly represented New Zealand Condors at the Rugby Heritage Cup in Pontlevoy, France. The U15 girls' team achieved an impressive 3rd place overall, engaging in exciting matches against Madagascar, France, Scotland, and the Eastern Bay of Plenty from New Zealand. Well done, Louise!
