Winter Tournament Week

St Peter's, Cambridge —

It is with anticipation that Secondary Schools Winter Tournament Week arrived in Week 7 of the Term, marking the culmination of a busy season of school winter sports.

This year's event is special as it is the first time the tournament has been allowed to run after pandemic closures in 2021 and 2022.

Around 25,000 students, teachers, coaches, and families will participate in more than 67 school tournament events nationwide after months of training, playing, and qualifying events.

St Peter’s was represented in eight sports: basketball, cycling, equestrian, football, hockey, lacrosse, netball, and rugby, travelling to Auckland, Hamilton, Rotorua, Taupo, Hastings, and Christchurch.

Our 14 teams, all aiming for top scores, achieved some notable results throughout the week. Of course, the measure of a successful team is not only in the final scores but in how they conduct themselves on the field/court. As always, we are extremely proud of all our sports people regardless of the final results.

A collective expression of gratitude goes out to all the supporters who help facilitate these fantastic sporting opportunities and enrich the experience of our students.

Final scores and results will continue to accumulate over the weekend. To view the final results of Winter Tournament Week – click here.
