St Peter's Parents' Association Mother's Day Event: St Peter's Parents' Association looks forward to hosting another fabulous Mother's Day event and celebrating our mums, nanas, aunts and significant women in our children's lives with you this weekend. 

Featuring guest speaker Belinda MacDonald, co-winner of the My Kitchen Rules New Zealand TV show.

STARS Concert: Wednesday, 24 May, from 6:30 pm-8:30 pm. STARS is an annual concert run by students for students. This in-house event is for St Peter’s students and staff only (due to the limited capacity of our Auditorium). This event allows our students to share their talents with their peers in a supportive and encouraging environment. There are 42 entries this year, with 28-30 acts selected to perform.

Important details are as follows:

  • Students have been notified about the programme selection for the event today.
  • If selected, further information about the technical/dress rehearsal will be communicated to students and parents.
  • Performance night - Performers do not need a ticket, however, non-Performing students must all have a ticket.
  • Boarding House Directors have already been given House their allocated tickets.
  • Day students may collect a ticket from OUTSIDE the Auditorium office on Monday, 22 May at interval time between 10.20 am to 10.40 am -due to the limited number, tickets will be issued on a first-in-first-served basis (one ticket per person).

Cross Country: Thursday, 25 May, is our Annual Cross Country. School-wide participation is expected, and we invite family and friends to come down and support our students. The first race starts at 11.50 am, and you can find the schedule here.


Cyber Safety with John Parsons: Tuesday, 30 May, John Parsons, a well-known leader in cyber safety for children will be presenting a workshop for parents providing a guide on how to keep children safe online.

Topics include:

  • Future-proofing for employment
  • Damaged reputations
  • Sexual predation
  • Cyberbullying
  • Sexting

Level 1 and Level 2 NCEA Drama Showcase: Year 11 and Year 12 Drama students have been hard at work this term preparing their respective class productions. Rehearsals are well underway in and out of class for these Drama students who have been refining their performances of 'Form' and 'My Friend George', two plays focussing on NZ history and the influences the past has on us.

This event will run over two nights, where both plays will be performed on Tuesday, 30 May and Wednesday, 31 May. Parents, friends and staff are welcome to attend the two evening performances, held in the Auditorium starting at 6:30 pm with a short intermission between each play.

All students attending as part of the audience must be in Formal Uniform.

Year 10 Camp: Hanna and Thornton girls will be going to camp in Week 6 from 29 May to 2 June.

Oliphant House 50-Year Celebration: Oliphant House is celebrating the occasion with two events on Friday, 9 and Saturday 10, June.

  • Friday, 9 June: Oliphant House, St Peter's, Cambridge from 4.00 pm - 6.00 pm, then drinks and nibbles at the Onyx restaurant upstairs function room from 6:30 pm. All Oliphant alumni are welcome.
  • Saturday 10 June: The fun continues as current Oliphant boys hold their annual Tour de Oli charity fundraiser. Twelve hours of non-stop cycling in the Oliphant Common Room from 12.00 noon. Supporters welcome.

NZ Careers Expo: Get ready for the future of work at the New Zealand Careers Expo in Hamilton from Sunday, 11 June to Monday 12 June at Claudelands. 

Attend in person or online at careersexpo.org.nz. This event is open to everyone and entry is free. 


Otago University Science Quiz: Sign-ups are now open for the 2023 Otago Science Quiz.

40-Hour challenge: Hanna House will host a World Vision 40-hour challenge fundraiser at the end of Term 2 on 16-18 June. 

Fundraising will begin from Week 5 of the term with participating students setting up their own fundraising pages. Show your support and ask your student to invite you to donate today, or visit the St Peter's, Cambridge World Vision donation page to donate here.
