As part of a group taking part in a panel on the council’s strategic plan, Ahu Ake. The group looked at the next 30 years in Waipa, and Maia shared her thoughts on issues such as transport, housing, the environment, and heritage and culture, with Mayor Susan O’Regan and other council officials. 

The council organisers thanked Maia for her contribution saying she was a delight to have on the panel and represented St Peter's impeccably.
