Twelve St Peter’s athletes travelled down to Palmerston North in the weekend to compete at the North Island Secondary School Athletics Championships.

With several of the team members having other sporting clashes during Summer Tournament Week, and being unable to attend, we were super proud of our athletes for exceeding expectations over the weekend.

Competing for the Waikato/Bay of Plenty Secondary Schools team, was a huge achievement for our athletes to qualify for. For some of our students, it was their first time competing in Waikato colours. Our junior athletes showed courage and confidence at their first major meet.

St Peter’s athletes showed outstanding character, resilience, and support for one another. Their gratitude and humbleness towards their performances were proud moments for all of us.

The squad is excited to transition into their Winter sports teams, refresh, and rebuild for NZSS Athletics in Term 4.
