Seven-Year Journey Update - Visual renders: The Prep and The College

Lisa Beere, Project ManagerDecember 12, 2023

In this update, we're pleased to share the visual renders of The Prep and The College buildings.

Please keep in mind, the images shared are not 100% accurate; they are only renders that are indicative of the changes. Some of the colours, furniture pieces, appliances and other details have not been finalised, so the end result will look a little different. However, we are confident these visual representations provide a good overview of the general look and feel of the completed spaces.

Additionally, as you look at renders of The College, you will note that there is limited renovation work planned. Instead, the priority is on the function of the space and making it a meaningful and productive area for our senior students. Appropriate staff will be located in The College to provide support to the students, and this will be reviewed over the course of the first year.

Introducing Alexander Wastney - Designwell

Alexander is the Creative Director at Designwell, the design firm we have engaged to assist St Peter’s with the campus’ long-term redevelopment plans.

An industrial designer by training, Alexander has a passion for branding and how it can integrate with spaces around us. He has worked in New Zealand and overseas, and has led many familiar design projects in Hamilton, including Garden Place’s Panama Square, the Riverbank Mall, Te Kete Aronui – Rototuna Library, and most recently MADE Market in Hamilton East.

As a proponent of using the design process to add value to our lives, we are thrilled to have him lead the interior re-design process of several key spaces at St. Peter’s.

Alexander says he and the team at Designwell are excited to work on the design project with St. Peter’s, given the rich history on campus and the possibilities of intertwining the old with the new to create an enhanced learning environment for students.

“St Peter’s has some beautiful, enduring assets that also reflect the longevity and strong foundation the school was built upon– the Hinuera stone, timber doors, stained glass…and our design process has centered on celebrating these features while also creating functional learning spaces built to last. I hope the St Peter’s community is as excited as we are to see it all come together.”

As always, you can see all information related to the Seven-Year Student Journey on the Portal.
