We invite you to our Parent Information Evening, which will focus on the forthcoming changes to the New Zealand curriculum and their impact on your child's education. This event will take place on Thursday, September 14th, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, right here at our school.

At this event, each learning area will present their updated course information, providing you with a comprehensive understanding of the new curriculum changes. Our dedicated staff members will be available to answer any questions you may have, ensuring you're well-informed about the direction our school is taking in the ever-evolving educational landscape.

We're excited to highlight that our focus remains centred on promoting rich and meaningful learning experiences for our students. We understand the importance of striking a balance between academic rigour and the overall well-being of our students. With the upcoming changes, we are committed to cultivating an environment that emphasises learning for its own sake, fostering curiosity, critical thinking, and a lifelong love for learning.

One of the key aspects of these curriculum changes is the emphasis on reducing over-assessment. We believe that students should have the opportunity to engage deeply with their studies, rather than being overwhelmed by constant assessments. By fostering a more balanced approach, we are confident that our students will be better equipped to excel in their studies and beyond.

A pivotal point of the evening will be the principal’s address at 6:00 PM in the school hall. During this session, I will personally guide you through the changes, explaining the rationale behind them and how they align with our school's vision for the future. It will be an excellent opportunity for you to gain insight into the direction we're taking and how these changes will prepare our students for success.

As we gear towards the Level 2 NCEA and the Literacy and Numeracy assessments, our aim is to provide a strong foundation that allows each student to thrive and achieve in their chosen pathways. We believe that these changes will enable our students to explore their interests and passions, while also equipping them with the necessary skills to succeed in their academic pursuits and future endeavours.
