I'll bet you are all curious about who is teaching at our school next year?
After consultation with all teachers and several rounds of interviews we have exciting news to share with you.
Mr Webster is looking forward to teaching the boys in Year 5+6. Mrs Thomas is joining the Paua team again and she will be teaching Year 5+6 girls.
Last week it was confirmed that Mrs Thomas has been reappointed to her Across Schools position in the Catholic Community of schools. This is a wonderful career opportunity for Maree and a recognition of her skills and experience particularly in agentic learning and bicultural awareness. Our school benefits from all the new knowledge that Maree brings from other schools to ours- and this is essential to stay ahead of the trend.
The decision to create a boys class and a girls class in the senior team was taken after looking at the social groupings in each year level. Mrs Thomas will be teaching 15 girls and Mr Webster will be teaching 17 boys...all the students will benefit from individualised programmes which meet the needs of each student and which focus on their interests.
Mrs McHugh will be part of the team for two days a week. Mrs McHugh is very familiar with our school and how we do things around here. With a group of 32 students and three teachers it's going to be a great opportunity to discover, to innovate and to maximise the gifts of all.
Paua team will be living in their usual learning space- the teachers will be swapping sides though.
