St.Thomas More vs St.Mary's, Tauranga.

Hockey against St. Marys!

Our team arrived at the turf and it was time to do what we came to the turf for, play hockey!

We got into our buddies, the buddies were: Summer and Daniella, Grayson and Noah, Pearl and Grace, Tessa and Paige and Ella and Sarah. “Fweet!” the whistle blew and everybody ran. Saint. Mary's scored the first goal which put them in the lead. Not too long after, Paige was injured and hurt her neck but started to feel better as the game went on. After that there was another injury; Daniella injured her ankle. Straight after that Sarah scored the tying goal and the half time whistle blew! Sharon ‘our Coach’ gave us some strategies and got us all into our positions and we got back onto the turf, everybody was ready to go and then the second half began.

Everybody was trying their best and there were lots of chances to score and lots of them were taken and fortunately for both teams there were lots of good saves. There were no more injuries and then there was the Winning goal! Daniella passed to Summer, Summer passed to Sarah, and Sarah passed to Ella, and Ella hit the ball as hard as she could and the ball went straight to the back of the net. We won! The score was 2-1 and after that we did the player of the day and Tessa got it which everyone expected because of how well she played. We all went home and rested and enjoyed our win!
