Wednesday is swimming day.
Every class has enjoyed taking part in our swimming programme provided through Baywave and the Water Safety Council.
It's great to see the progress made in ten lessons. Our children come to school with a wide range of swimming abilities - from not able to float or put their heads in the water to students who are building up their water fitness through swimming lengths.
The swimming coaches at Baywave are very good at assessing the skill levels and then working on developing more. The teachers receive a report from the coaches for each of the students at the end of the term to say how much progress has been achieved.
We are very fortunate that the swimming costs are subsidized by the Water Safety Council and the Ministry of Education.
It was unfortunate that the swimming sports were postponed last Friday but a new date has been arranged so that swimmers have an opportunity to reach their personal best times. Thank you Paula Farrell and Richard Webster for putting in time to organise the events for our school.
