Anya and Max represented our school at the cluster speech competitions held at Tahatai School - and both of them spoke extremely well.

Kath Joblin —

Anya was competing in the Year 5 division and Max was in the Year 6 division.

Anya's speech was about the benefits of having a pet and why people benefit from being pet owners. She was very expressive and caught the eye of her audience through her body language and facial expressions. Anya was commended on her preparation and presence on the stage.

Max engaged the audience with humour and by asking lots of questions directed at the students in front of him. He used lots of expression too and his speech was about the value of learning many languages. I'm sure that the audience was convinced by the end of his speech. Only two speakers were chosen from each age group, first and second. I'm sure that Max and Anya would have taken out the third positions in their categories. Congratulations to you both.
