Has your child asked you if they can become Catholic- and have Communion at school Mass with their friends?

Kath Joblin —

Sometimes because families have moved schools or countries their children haven't celebrated Holy Communion or Eucharist or been Confirmed even though they have been baptised as babies. Sometimes parents want all their children to be involved in learning about the sacraments at the same time and so they wait until the youngest is eight?

Are your children part of our school community and old enough to celebrate Communion with us?

Maybe you are new to the Catholic church but you've chosen to bring your child to our school because you like the values and culture of our school? Do you want to baptize your children so they are able to be part of the wonderful experiences which our parish community offers?

THE RITE OF CHRISTIAN INITIATION OF CHILDREN OF CATECHETICAL AGE (RCICCA) - a big name for becoming a Catholic.

The RCICCA is a journey of initiation that has been designed especially for children over the age of 8 years that have not been baptised in the Catholic church and are seeking to ‘Become Catholic’.

Family sessions are being held on a Tuesday evening at 5.30pm beginning on August 16th at our parish centre - St Thomas More Church parish Centre, 17 Gloucester Rd, Mt Maunganui. If you have a child that is expressing their interest in being baptized and learning more about Jesus and church then please contact Heidi, our parish pastoral worker on:
